I help organizations and people grow by teaming up with subject matter experts in the area’s leadership, strategy, and business development, locally and across North America, to provide unique and powerful growth solutions.
As an accomplished senior business development professional leader with over 30 years of experience in publishing (construction), telecom, professional services, software industry, IT and Not for Profit industries. I have a genuine interest and ability to learn about organizations, the people who make that organization unique and the ability (and willingness) to listen to explore ways to add value.
I have held business development and leadership positions in many different industries: 7 years in construction reporting (Southam), 15 years in telecommunications (Sprint Canada and Rogers), 3 years in professional services (KPMG) and 2 years in software development (Protegra). The diversity of these experiences has provided me with challenging yet rewarding lessons and a unique perspective that allows me to better support my clients across a variety of industries and experience levels.
More recently, I have worked at growing my consulting practice and joined forces with The Envision Group, to provide Business Development (activities/training and coaching) and Leadership Development (training and coaching). I have supported clients in oil and gas, renewable energy, IT startups, telecommunications and various nonprofits.
As I progress in my professional journey, I have come to genuinely appreciate the value and pride that comes with having the opportunity to help someone else on their professional journey. Whether training a group of people or coaching an individual one on one, I take seriously the responsibility to help someone evolve their skills and take that next step. That said, I make sure we have some fun along the way.
Locally I have worked with clients that include the United Way and the World Trade Centre Winnipeg.
Scott then spent 15 years in telecom in senior business development roles. Working with a diverse team of technology professionals, we implemented a wide array of telecom solutions with many of the largest organizations in the local market
A deliberate career shift resulted in the opportunity to create the first ever Director of Business Development role with KPMG Winnipeg. The role included coaching and mentoring Partners and Senior Managers in client relationship management practices, managing key target accounts, creating and managing key industry partnerships and managing overall sales performance.
Scott’s last role prior to becoming a consultant was with a large local custom software developer. They had a practice area that provided a SaaS solution for Non-profits. While always having an affinity for technology solutions, this role provided an opportunity to be introduced to organizations in the Non-profit sector. Ever since there has been a focus on creating opportunities to work with and support the sector.
For the last couple of years, Scott has worked at growing his own consulting practice. This includes strategy development and execution as well as day to day business development activities for his clients. In partnership with Frank Growth Solutions, Scott launched his training practice with clients that include the United Way, the World Trade Centre Winnipeg and Community Futures Heartland and Community Futures White Horse Plains.
More recently, Scott partnered with the Envision Group (www.envisiongroup.ca) based in Calgary. We provide an extensive array of professional development and coaching solutions to organizations across North America, and around the world!
